Grace M. Wood, 84, of Washington, died Monday, February 14, 2005, in the home of her daughter, Kay, in Avella, following a three year illness. She was born in Washington, on October 30, 1920, a daughter of David F. and Lillie H. Harshman McKinney. She was a 1939 graduate of Washington High School and had worked as Superintendent of Literature Services at McGraw Edison for many years. Mrs. Wood was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington, a Board Member of the Washington Senior Citizens, and a member of A.A.R.P.
On August 17, 1940, she married Charles R. Wood, who died on March 29, 1989.
Surviving are a son, Charles D. Wood of Washington; two daughters, Rebecca W. Bonnell of Washington and Kay W. Ihnat of Avella; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Kennedy and Esther Clevenger.
Friends of Grace M. Wood, 84, of Washington, who died Monday, February14, 2005, will be received on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2005, with Pastor Paul Leone officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
