Mary Ann Wright, 72, of Washington, died Monday, May 19, 2008, in Washington County Health Center, following a 10-year illness.
She was born January 4, 1936, in St. Albens, West Virginia, a daughter of James and Wavie Elizabeth Holstein Blaker.
Mrs. Wright graduated from Trinity High School. She was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church and the Arden Athletic Club.
Mrs. Wright was employed at Hills Department Store, in customer service, for 20 years.
On March 13, 1954, she married Earl Henry “Butch” Wright, who died August 7, 2000.
Surviving are three sons, Jeffrey Earl Wright, of Claysville, Michael David Wright and Scott Daniel Wright, both of Washington; two daughters, Kelly Suzanne Greene and Barbara Lynn Willard, both of Washington; two brothers, James Blaker, of Ft. Myers, FL, and Michael Blaker, of St. Albens, WV; a sisters, Pauline George, of McDonald; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Robert Blaker, and 2 sisters, Virginia Rogers, and a sister who died in infancy.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008. Burial will follow in Chartiers Hill Cemetery.
