WAVES vet was longtime Fairmont Supply accountant
Marlene M. Garrett, 69, of Washington, died at 11:26 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, in her home after a brief illness.
She was born December 17, 1935, in Export, a daughter of Howard W. and Sophie Oskey McAnany.
Mrs. Garrett was a 1953 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School.
She worked as an accountant for Fairmont Supply for more than 25 years.
Mrs. Garrett was Catholic and was a veteran, having served four years in WAVES.
Surviving are a sister, Louella Schurr of Burgettstown; three nieces, Lynn Mezyk of Fairview Park, Ohio, Lisa McAnany of London, England, and Michele M. Loncaric of Burgettstown; and four nephews, Jerry Schurr of Washington, Randy Schurr of Ellenton, Fla., Howard J. McAnany of Washington D.C., and William Bart McAnany of Williamsport.
Deceased are a son, Anthony Howard "Chip" Garrett; two brothers, Howard W. McAnany Jr. and Thomas M. McAnany; and an infant sister, Shirley McAnany.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005, with the Rev. Nicholas Spirko officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Canonsburg.
