Alice Victoria Mitchell, 79, of Washington, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, in The Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 2, 1928, in Matewan, West Virginia, a daughter of Marritt and Lydia Belle Payne Cook.
Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker and member of Trinity Bible Fellowship.
On December 26, 1942, she married John Mitchell, who died December 29, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Thomas (Nancy) Mitchell; two daughters, Sandra Jean (Joe) Hello and Brenda (Nick) Cecil; two sisters, Eunice Carter and Geneva Wilkinson, all of Washington; ten grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Leonard Mitchell; three brothers, Auburn, Ernest and Emory Kennedy; and four sisters, Vernie Morris, Norma Jean Kuhn, June Walsh and Alma Plants.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 11th, with Pastor Robert Turrill officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
