Mary C. Mounts, 94, of Washington, died at 9:35 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2005, in Washington County Health Center, Washington, following a three-year illness. She was born October 2, 1910, in Claysville, a daughter of Maurice and Jennie Hunter Craft. Mrs. Mounts was a member of Lighthouse Community Church, Washington. She graduated from Prosperity High School and Penn Commercial. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and was a member of Lagonda Neighborhood Club and Lagonda Home Economics Club. On March 29, 1933, she married Howard Mounts, who died April 25, 1979. Surviving are two sons, Jack Mounts of Lagonda and Eugene Mounts of West Alexander; two grandchildren, Lori Polan (Randy) of West Alexander and Debbie Gardner (Ron) of Claysville; three great-grandchildren, Josh Polan of Pittsburgh, Jeremy Polan of West Alexander and Brandon Gardner of Claysville. A brother, David Craft, is deceased.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 24, with the Rev. Duane Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
