Naomi Jean Lightner

October 26, 1923 — February 5, 2008

Naomi Jean Lightner, 84, of Washington, formerly of Graysville, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008, in The Washington Hospital, following a three-month illness. She was born October 26, 1923, in Nineveh, Greene County, a daughter of Timothy F. and Artie B. Murdock Lightner. Miss Lightner was very active in Beulah Baptist Church. For 30 years, she worked at G.C. Murphy’s. Surviving is a sister, Mary (Ron) Allison, of Prosperity; nieces and nephews, Karen Gorby, Tim (Colleen) Allison, Terry (Jeannie) Allison, Deborah (Dale) Smith, Garry (Kim) Lightner, and several great-nieces and nephews; one great-great niece: and one great-great nephew. Deceased are two brothers, Arthur and Reed Lightner. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, with Pastor Harry A. Hill officiating. Burial will follow in West Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 331 South Main Street, Washington PA 15301, or to American Heart Association, 777 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 200, Pittsburgh PA 15235.
