Naomi Jean Lightner

Naomi Jean Lightner, 84, of Washington, formerly of Graysville, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008, in The Washington Hospital, following a three-month illness. She was born October 26, 1923, in Nineveh, Greene County, a daughter of Timothy F. and Artie B. Murdock Lightner. Miss Lightner was very active in Beulah Baptist Church. For 30 years, she worked at G.C. Murphy’s. Surviving is a sister, Mary (Ron) Allison, of Prosperity; nieces and nephews, Karen Gorby, Tim (Colleen) Allison, Terry (Jeannie) Allison, Deborah (Dale) Smith, Garry (Kim) Lightner, and several great-nieces and nephews; one great-great niece: and one great-great nephew. Deceased are two brothers, Arthur and Reed Lightner. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, with Pastor Harry A. Hill officiating. Burial will follow in West Union Cemetery.
