Donald Robert Wootton, Sr.

Coen Oil driver served in Marine Corps Reserves. Donald Robert Wootton Sr., 75, of Washington, died unexpectedly at 11:26 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005, in Washington Hospital. He was born August 2, 1929, in Newton Falls, Ohio, a son of Geoffrey and Hazel Horne Wootton. Mr. Wootton attended East Washington High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. He worked at Bethlehem Mines Corp. as a motorman for 11 years and drove a tractor-trailer for Coen Oil for 15 years. Mr. Wootton was a member of Sunset Lodge 623 F&AM, Teamsters Union and United Mine Workers 1197. He enjoyed his dog. On June 21, 1950, he married Dorothy Verner, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Donald Robert (Angela) Wootton Jr. of Prosperity; two daughters, Melody (Michael) Burns of Washington and Lori (Rudy) Retort of Dormont; two sisters, Elizabeth Blazevich and Jacqueline (Alan) Bogden, all of Indiana; and seven grandchildren, Monica and Megan Wootton, Christopher, Pierce and Joshua Inks and Rudy, Zack and Kali Retort. Deceased are two sisters, Doris Fazzolare and Marilyn Wootton. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 9, with Pastor James Rhodes officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery Mausoleum.
