Robert A. Brahs Jr., 71, of West Finley, formerly of Washington, died unexpectedly at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2005.
He was born December 25, 1933, in Washington, a son of Robert Sr. and Rachel Rose Patterson Brahs.
Mr. Brahs graduated from Chartiers Township High School in 1951 and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Washington.
He was a truck driver for Suwak Trucking for 33 years and worked part-time at Box USA.
Mr. Brahs enjoyed hunting with family and friends and spending time with his granddaughter.
On September 15, 1954, he married Mona Nystrom, who survives and with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Also surviving are a son, Robert A. Brahs III of Slippery Rock; a daughter, Carla Blackhurst of Washington; two sisters, Marilyn Brahs of Meadow Lands and Janet (William) Sokol of West Newton; and a granddaughter, Kelly Blackhurst.
A sister, Evelyn Sertway, is deceased.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, with the Rev. Anne Howe officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
