Joseph Nicastro

Joseph “ Pappy “ Nicastro, 86, of Washington, died Saturday, January 31, 2004 in the Washington Hospital following a short illness. He was born in Eucker, West Virginia, on March 8, 1917, a son of Giovanna and Rose Magliase Nicastro. Mr. Nicastro served in the United States Army in World War II and later worked as a Machinist at Washington Rubber Company. Surviving are a son, Joseph A. Nicastro of Gold Canyon, Arizona; a brother Louis “ Nick “ Nicastro of Los Angeles, California; a sister Betty Solomon of Washington; two grandchildren, Steven and Michael Nicastro; and one great-grandchild. Mr. Nicastro is preceded in death by five brothers, Albert and James Nicastro, Samuel, Frank, and Patsy Belcastro; and three sisters, Mary Nicastro, Ann Louise Solomon and Mary Bonasso. Friends of Joseph “ Pappy “ Nicastro, 86, of Washington will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Monday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington where a blessing service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2004, Rev. William Feeney officiating. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.
