Mary Ellen Kavolak, 72, of Washington, died at 2:12 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2005, in her home, after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 30, 1932, in Washington, a daughter of Joseph Paul and Hazel Kinder Heres.
Mrs. Kavolak attended Washington High School. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Hilary Catholic Church in Washington.
She enjoyed painting and playing cards.
On April 20, 1950, she married Alfred Adam Kavolak, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, David Bruce Kavolak of Washington; a brother, Fred Harris of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Dorothy Gorwitz of Washington and Brenda Camps of Cleveland, Ohio; and a grandson, Zacchary David Kavolak.
Deceased are a daughter, Katherine Ann Kavolak; a brother, Joseph Harris; and two sisters, Evelyn Naser and Joan Anderson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, in St. Hilary Catholic Church, Washington, with the Rev. Thomas D. O'Neil as celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.
