Marian Josephine Strawn, 78, of Washington, died Sunday, February 8, 2004 in the Donnell House following a five month illness. She was born in Washington on April 24, 1925, a daughter of Joseph and Emma Gray Caldwell. Mrs. Strawn had once worked at the Victory Diner, later at Kwik and Easy, and last as a driver for G.G.& C. Bus Company for ten years. She enjoyed crafts and crocheting.
On September 8, 1945 she married Walter Lawrence Strawn who died on October 2, 2001. Surviving are two sons, Walter Wayne Strawn of Houston and Guy Klaus of Washington; five daughters, Phyllis Ann McCartney of Texas, Nancy Jane Williams of Kissimmee, Florida, Marlene Boardley, Brenda Sparks, and Donna Jean Strawn, all of Washington; a brother, Robert Caldwell of Washington; two sisters, Thelma Sanney of Washington and Betty Redd of Fredericktown; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are a son Richard Strawn; a grandson, Bryan James Boardley; two brothers, George and Donald Caldwell; and a sister Virginia Seibert.
Friends of Marian Josephine Strawn, of Washington, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Tuesday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at 1:00PM, Rev. Fred Helmick officiating.
