James Gordon, 79, of Washington, died Saturday, September 6, 2008, in Washington Hospital.
He was born November 16, 1928, in Meadow Lands, a son of Chester W. and Minnie Kubacki Gordon.
Mr. Gordon was a veteran of the U.S. Army 7th division - 31st Field Artillery and served during World War II and Korea.
Mr. Gordon worked for General Motors for 36 years.
He was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
On May 20, 1949, he married Barbara Dale Warrick, who died June 12, 2008.
Surviving are two sons, Michael A. and Chester W. Gordon, both of Washington; a daughter, Kathleen Krenzelak of Prosperity; five grandchildren, Tracey, James R. and Daniel M. Gordon, James C. Holden and Michelle Kuhen; and a great-grandson, Justin Harris.
Deceased is a brother, Joseph Gordon.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, with the Rev. Ruth Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will held graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
