John B. Johnson, 94, of Washington, died Saturday, January 31, 2004 in his home having been in declining health. He was born in Washington County on November 28, 1909 a son of Jonathan Bryner and Corda Mae Garrett Johnson. Mr. Johnson had attended Trinity Schools and was a self-employed Carpenter and Farmer. He had previously worked in Oil Fields. He enjoyed Hunting and was also an avid reader. He was a member of Liberty Methodist Church.
On April 5, 1932 he married Ruby Evelyn Jackson who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James W. and Donald L. Johnson, both of Washington; six grandchildren, Barry, Kevin, Brian, and Eric Johnson, Robin Neel, and Dana Lyle; and eight great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Garrett and Harold Johnson; three sisters, Hazel Johnson Roche, Wilma Anderson, and Bernice Johnson.
Friends of John B. Johnson, 94, of Washington will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Monday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2004 at 1:30 PM with the Rev. Larry Wiltrout officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
