John Bertram Johnson

November 28, 1909 — January 31, 2004

John B. Johnson, 94, of Washington, died Saturday, January 31, 2004 in his home having been in declining health. He was born in Washington County on November 28, 1909 a son of Jonathan Bryner and Corda Mae Garrett Johnson. Mr. Johnson had attended Trinity Schools and was a self-employed Carpenter and Farmer. He had previously worked in Oil Fields. He enjoyed Hunting and was also an avid reader. He was a member of Liberty Methodist Church. On April 5, 1932 he married Ruby Evelyn Jackson who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James W. and Donald L. Johnson, both of Washington; six grandchildren, Barry, Kevin, Brian, and Eric Johnson, Robin Neel, and Dana Lyle; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Garrett and Harold Johnson; three sisters, Hazel Johnson Roche, Wilma Anderson, and Bernice Johnson. Friends of John B. Johnson, 94, of Washington will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Monday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2004 at 1:30 PM with the Rev. Larry Wiltrout officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
