Virginia Lee Roupe Noble, 80, of Washington, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in her residence. She had been ill since January.
She was born August 28, 1928, in Canton Township, a daughter of Edward M. and Genevieve M. Cole Roupe.
Mrs. Noble attended Log Pile School and worked as a packer at Hazel-Atlas #2 for nine years.
She was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing bingo when her health permitted.
On November 8, 1949, she married Ray G. Noble, Sr., who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Ray G. (Rosemarie) Noble, Jr. of Washington; three daughters, Genevieve M. (Wesley) Williams, Ethel Joan (Dale) Roberts and Sally L. (Norman) Noble, all of Washington; a brother, James Edward “Sonny” Roupe of Washington; two sisters, Shirley R. Lycett of Buckhannon, West Virginia, and Linda J. Roupe of Washington; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a granddaughter, Jamie Fuller.
Friends will be received 5 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday September 6th, with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating. Burial will follow in North Buffalo Church Cemetery.
