Richard Joseph Bucenell, 96, of Washington, died Sunday, January 11, 2004 in the Donnell House following a brief illness. He was born on June 19, 1907 in Forest City, a son of Joseph and Rose Meddleton Bucenell. Mr. Bucenell was a graduate of West Bethlehem High School and had worked more than 46 years as an Electrician in the Bethlehem Mine # 58 in Marianna. He was a member of the United Mine Workers # 2874, was an Honorary member of the Marianna American Legion where he served as the Bugler for funeral services. He enjoyed golf and especially enjoyed music. Mr. Bucenell was a member of the Faith United Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife Eleanore Jane Morgan. Also surviving are a daughter Eleanore B. Brunetti of Marianna ; four grandchildren, Rhonda Biwer, Sandra Coram, Daniel Stephens, and David Stephens as well as five great-grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Bucenell in death are a daughter Loretta A. Fien and a brother James Vincent Bucenell.
Friends of Richard Joseph Bucenell, 96 of Washington, who died on Sunday, January 11, 2004 will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM on Tuesday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington where services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Edward Gray officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
