Larry G. Foutz, 80, of Washington, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005, in Manor Care Nursing Home, McMurray. He had been ill since March. He was born January 7, 1925, in Poland Mines, a son of Charles W. and Della Hughes Foutz. Mr. Foutz attended Ellsworth High School. He served as a PFC in the United States Army, 502nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion, in the Southern Philippines and Ryukyu during World War II, earning the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two bronze stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Foutz was employed by Fairmont Supply in Sales. He had been a member of Third United Presbyterian Church since 1951. Mr. Foutz was a member of Washington Lodge 164 F & AM, Coudersport Consistory, Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion, and V.F.W. Post 6490, Fisher-Lonick,, in Atlastburg. On June 17, 1948, he married Audrey M. Havelka, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Marcia F. (Dr. Kim) Stacher of Washington, and Janet M. (Robert) Hull of Tulsa, OK; two brothers, John Foutz of Ravenna, OH, and Alfred Foutz of Washington; four grandchildren, Joshua Stacher, Alexa Stacher, Mallory Hull and Mitchell Hull; and one great- grandchild, Kimmy Stacher. Deceased are two brothers, Jacob and William Foutz, and three sisters, Anna Thomas, Ruth Hepler, and Edith Phillips.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2005, with Rev. Leslie Shoup and John Wright officiating. Entombment to follow in Washington Cemetery Mausoleum. At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Washington Lodge 164 F&AM will hold memorial services in the funeral home. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
