Gladys Blose Polan, 92, of Washington, died Friday, August 15, 2008, in The Washington Hospital.
She was born January 6, 1916, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a daughter of Irvin J. and Daisy Brennan Blose.
Mrs. Blose graduated from Washington High School. In the 1930�s, she was a hostess at the George Washington Hotel and for 32 years she was employed in the office of Columbia Gas Co.
Mrs. Blose was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed crocheting.
She was the last of her immediate family.
On September 8, 1943, she married James Kenneth Polan, who died February 13, 1992.
Surviving are two nephews, David I. (Kathy) Blose, with whom she made her home, and Lewis Blose; two nieces, Linda D. Blose and Kathleen E. Blose, all of Washington; a niece by marriage, Julie Blose; several great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister who died in infancy; three brothers, William (Mary) Blose, Irvin J. Blose, Jr., and Lewis Blose; and a nephew, William C. Blose.
Friends will be received 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 18th.
Entombment will follow in St. James Mausoleum in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington PA 15301.
