Katherine “Babe” Durbin Wade, 65, of Washington, died at 7:37 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2008, at the Washington Hospital, after a brief illness.
She was born May 15, 1943, in Washington, a daughter of Leroy and Thelma Snyder Shrader.
Mrs. Wade was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting owls, playing bingo and going to yard sales. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Wade attended the Amity Schools.
On December 8, 1974, she married Charles Wade, who survives.
Also surving are 3 sons, William (Dina) Durbin, of Amity; John (Missy) Durbin and James (Tracey) Durbin, both of Washington; a daughter, Beverly (James) May, of Washington; a brother, Norman (Connie) Shrader, of Amity; 6 sisters, Caroline (Herschell) Chadwick and Thelma (Oliver) Chadwick, both of Prosperity; Sandra (Bob) Bitz, of Canonsburg; Janet Wade and Laura (Don) Ealy, both of Washington; and Darla (Mike) Miller, of East Finley; 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Deceased are her first husband William Durbin, and a daughter, Tammy Sue Durbin.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008, with Pastor Sue Kidder-Petritis officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
