Dale Cross, 92, of Washington, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, in the home of her daughter, after having been in declining health.
She was born in Wana, West Virginia, on April 4, 1916, a daughter of W. Gay and Nancy M. Wise Wilson.
After graduation from Wadestown High School in 1934, she completed study at the Sayre Academy of Cosmetology.
A long time member of the Fairhill Manor Christian Church, she had been a member of many committees' and groups including the choir, women�s fellowship group, and had served as a deacon.
On November 25, 1937, she married J. Ardis Cross, who died in July of 1991. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Jo ( Chuck ) Riggle of Washington; two grandchildren, Charles Ardis ( Erin ) Riggle and Jodi ( Steve ) Barlow; and four great-grandchildren, Mackenna and Camden Riggle, Eliza and Brooke Barlow; a niece Nancy ( Chuck ) Gilmore; and a nephew Ed ( Judy ) Breedlove.
Preceding her in death is a sister, Gayle Breedlove Davis.
Friends of Dale Cross, 92, of Washington, who died Sunday, June 8, 2008, will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 2:00 PM, Rev. Norman Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family is requesting memorial donations be made to Fairhill Manor Church, Montgomery Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
