Merrill A. Baumgartner, 78, of Washington, died Thursday, June 19, 2008.
She was born January 22, 1930, in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of Lucille Wilson.
Mrs. Baumgartner graduated from Waynesburg High School.
She was retired from Washington & Jefferson College, where she worked as a manager of the snack bar for 20 years.
Mrs. Baumgartner was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon, elder and treasurer.
As long as her health permitted, she volunteered in Washington Hospital, the food pantry and Meals on Wheels.
On March 23, 1978, she married Louis R. Baumgartner, who died March 11, 2007.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Cox Daywalt; two grandsons, Jason (Dawna) and Jeremy Daywalt; six great-grandchildren, Erica, Dennis, Nevada, Brad Lee, Darin and Ryan Daywalt; and a cousin, Carol (David) Stewart, who was her primary caregiver.
Deceased is a grandson, Brad R. Daywalt.
At the request of the deceased, no public visitation was held.
