Kellar Oldfield, 87, of Uniontown, formerly of Washington, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, in The Marquis House following a one year illness.
He was born in St. Mary’s, West Virginia, on December 22, 1920, a son of William and Jessie Kellar Oldfield.
Mr. Oldfield was a Veteran of the United States Army, 2nd Division, 9th Regiment, K- Company, having received the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and a Bronze Star.
For thirty-seven years, he worked at Coen Oil Corporation as a driver. He later lived in Florida prior to his recent return. Mr. Oldfield was once married to Mary Mankey. In 1961, he married Millie Carson Eagon, who died in 1992. In 1993 he married Mildred Renfro who died in 2003.
He was a member of the Yale Yarnall Post # 34 of the American Legion, in Haines City, Florida. Also, he was a long time member of the Church of Christ in Washington.
Mr. Oldfield is survived by two daughters, Marjorie ( Dale ) Coate of Aurora, Colorado, Marie ( Gerald ) Molzahn of Worland, Wyoming; a step-daughter Karen ( Robert ) Miller of Brownsville; a sister June Mason of Washington; seven grandchildren, Brett and Wyatt Molzahn, Shawna Elliott, Jeffrey Coate, Alicia Groen, Amy Redelsburger, and Jarrett Miller; as well as sixteen great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are a brother Rick Oldfield, a sister Faynell Beigley, and a grandson, Troy Molzahn.
Friends of Kellar Oldfield, 87, of Uniontown, formerly of Washington, who died Saturday, June 21, 2008, will be received on Monday, from 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, ltd., 925 Allison Avenue. An additional period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, from 1:30 – 2:00 PM, the time of services, in the Church of Christ, Allison Avenue, Washington, Bob Davison, minister. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery. Full military honors graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175, American Legion.
