Clarlew S. Duke, 79, of Washington, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
She was born December 21, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of Lewis Snyder and Clara Keeling.
For many years, she was executive director at Washington Area Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Duke was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church.
She started Washington Singers and Dancers group and taught line dancing.
She enjoyed singing in her church choir, tap dancing, sewing, photography and swimming.
On July 16, 1945, she married her high school sweetheart, Donald J. Duke. They were married 62 years.
Also surviving are a son, Jay D. Duke (Marcella) of Greensburg; two daughters, Donnice (Timothy) Kovach of Washington and Clarilee (Donald) Annonio of Cumberland, Md.; two grandchildren, Hillary and Donald (Carole); and a great-grandchild, Donald.
Friends will be recieved from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, in Faith United Presbyterian Church, Washington, with the Rev. Charles Berrine officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund for the emergency wing at Washington Hospital.
