Walter Thomas “Ace” Holmes, 63, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in University of Pittsburgh Medical Hospital-Oakland, following a one month illness.
He was born December 31, 1943, in Washington, a son of the late Carl Thomas and Opal Lee McBee Holmes.
Mr. Holmes attended Claysville Schools and was employed at West Penn Wire for thirty-five years.
He enjoyed playing cards, Country Music, the Oldies, shooting pool and softball.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin and Michael Holmes, both of Washington; three brothers, James and Jack Holmes, of Waterloo, IN., and Carl Holmes, of Washington; and two sisters, Irma Gray and Barbara Cage, both of Washington; four grandchildren, Rocky, Mandy, Brandi, and Timothy Holmes, and a great grandchild, Austin Curtis.
Deceased are a brother, Thomas M. Holmes; two sisters, Mary Grace Holmes and Evelyn Grace Morris.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, in William
G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating.
