Anna Jean McNeeley Ammon, 76, of Washington, died Friday, August 1, 2003 in Allegheny General Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on June 6, 1927 in Kirby, Pennsylvania a daughter of Harmon Ernest and Emaline Edwards McNeely. Mrs. Ammon was a 1945 graduate of Waynesburg High School and a graduate of Penn Commercial College. She was a member of the Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church and was active with the Washington County Historical Society. Mrs. Ammon had worked for Washington & Jefferson College, for District Justice J. Albert Spence, and also for Debbie O’Dell for a five year period.
On August 10, 1946 she married Clifford C. Ammon who died on December 13, 1981. She is survived by a son, Timothy H. Ammon of Pittsburgh and several Nieces and Nephews.
Preceding her in death are a son, David Ernest Ammon and a brother, Harry McNeely.
At the request of the deceased, no public visitation will be held. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at Washington Cemetery, 3:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Washington County Historical Society.
