Ruby Irene Fields Jones

Florida resident formerly of Claysville. Ruby Irene Fields Jones, 91, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Claysville and Washington, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in Port Charlotte. She was born January 14, 1917, in Taylorstown, a daughter of James Warren and Dora Adams Fields. Mrs. Jones was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Port Charlotte and a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Washington. On March 7, 1937, she married Richard A. Jones, who died March 13, 1998. Surviving are a son, Richard A. Jones Jr. of Lantana, Fla.; a daughter, Janice Ritchea of Port Charlotte; a brother, James Wilbur Fields of Port Charlotte; five grandchildren, Joyce Carroll, Joe Carroll, Tom Ritchea, Candi Brockway and Chayla Jones; four stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and families of Jean Murner, Joan Hartzell and Allen Daugherty. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
