Jane I. Stewart, 83, of Washington, died Thursday, August 7, 2008, in Canonsburg Hospital.
She was born Martha Jane Iams, on July 30, 1925, a daughter of William Wylie and Annie Laurie Steele Iams.
Mrs. Stewart attended East Washington schools, graduating in 1944. She also attended Penn Commercial, in Washington.
She was of Protestant faith.
Mrs. Stewart had been employed at Citizens Water Company, Baptist Home, Methodist Home in Mt. Lebanon, Washington Crown Center, and also Washington Mall.
In 1949, she married Edward Blair Stewart, who is deceased.
Surviving are a daughter, Rebekah (James) Klein and family, of Butler; a son, E. Blair (Judy) Stewart and family, of Abingdon, MD.; a brother, Paul C. (Dorothy) Iams, of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are two sisters, Edna Iams Miller, and Ruth Anne Iams Justin; and a grandson, David Stewart.
Friends will be received noon to 2:00 p.m., the hour of the service, Saturday, August 9, 2008, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Interment will follow in West Middletown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, at the request of the deceased, memorial contributions may be sent to the donor’s choice.
