Daniel J. Gruber, 52, of Claysville, died at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, in the home of his parents, following a 13-month illness. He was born July 22, 1952, in Pittsburgh, a son of Ralph D. and Edith Kirchman Gruber of Pittsburgh. Mr. Gruber was a 1970 Bethel Park High School graduate and attended a year of college. He was employed as a warehouseman at HBC. Mr. Gruber was Catholic and enjoyed to garden, hunt and fish. Surviving are two brothers, David A. Gruber of Zelienople and Donald E. Gruber of Taylorstown; a sister, Suzanne (Tim) Coffield of Evans, Ga.; three nephews, Glenn and Justin (Courtney) Gruber and Mike Coffield; two nieces Brandie Gruber and Sharon Coffield; and a great-nephew, Brenden Gruber.
Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and 1 to 7 p.m., the hour of a blessing service, Tuesday, March 15, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Nicholas Spirko officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 250 Mt. Lebanon Blvd., Suite 203, Pittsburgh, PA 15234, or to Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
