40-year employee of Columbia Gas
Frank A. Morris Sr., 83, of Washington, died Wednesday, August 21, 2002, in the Washington Hospital emergency room.
He was born March 16, 1919, in Graysville, a son of William and Pearl Polen Morris.
Prior to retirement, he was employed by Columbia Gas for more than 40 years.
During World War II, Mr. Morris served in the U.S. Army 121st Infantry Division in Normandy, northern France, Rhineland and central Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, with four bronze stars.
He was a member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175.
Mr. Morris was a hunter and enjoyed gardening.
On June 22, 1946, he married Wilma Waneta Cook, who survive.
Also surviving are a son, Frank A. Morris Jr. of Washington; six daughters, Sandra Fuller, Joanna LaFave, Beverly Morris, Brenda McGowan and Connie Molinaro, all of Washington, and Pamela Morris of New Concord, Ohio; a brother, James Morris of Washington; 12 grandchildren, Jason, Timothy and Adam Morris, Rachel Smith, Heather Marinski, Lonie Jr., Jennifer Ward and Trent Ward, Brea and Misti McGowan and Lisa and Jared Molinaro; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a granddaughter, Bonnie Fuller; and three brothers, Kenneth, Charles and Walter Morris.
MORRIS - Friends of Frank A. Morris Sr. of Washington, who died Wednesday, August 21, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175.
