Mabel Ilene Reck Washington homemaker born in Buffalo Township Mabel Ilene Reck, 91, of Washington, died at 7:05 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2003, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington. She was born December 25, 1911, in Buffalo Township, a daughter of Thomas and Annie Woodward Ashmore. Mrs. Reck was Roman Catholic, a homemaker and a graduate of Taylorstown High School. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Surviving are three sons, John, David and Robert Reck, all of Washington; a daughter, Margaret White of Hickory; two brothers, Leon and Merlin Ashmore, both of Washington; a sister, Marion Miller of Avella; her former husband, John Reck; eight grandchildren, Lisa Wassel, Eric White, Jennifer Balieu and Mark, Heather, Craig, Patrick and Jeremy Reck; and a great-grandson. Deceased are a grandson, Brian John White; a sister, Evelyn Watkins; and two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Ashmore. RECK - Friends of Mabel Ilene Reck of Washington, who died Sunday, December 7, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth N. Schott officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Citizens Library.
