William R. Eustis, 65, of Washington died Sunday, September 28, 2003 in the Presbyterian Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born in Washington on September 5, 1938 a son of the late John Wilbur and Mary Bess Crossland Eustis, Sr. Mr. Eustis was a 1957 graduate of Trinity High School and a member of the First Christian Church in Washington. Until retirement he worked as a Grinder at US Steel’s Homestead Works. Later he worked at W & J as a Security Guard. Mr. Eustis was a member of the United Steel Workers Union. He was a former Pinto League President and had coached both youth baseball and football.
Surviving are a son Christopher Eustis of Lawndale, Illinois; a daughter Jody Sprowls of Claysville; two brothers, John W. “ Jack “ Eustis, Jr. of Bridgeville, and David A. Eustis of Washington; two sisters, Marilyn Bainer Failinger of Stewart, Florida and Nancy Markley of Bethel Park; three grandchildren, Zachary Sprowls, Danielle and Devyn Eustis.
Friends of William R. Eustis of Washington who died Sunday, September 28 will be received from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Wednesday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington where services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2003, Pastor Paul Leone officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
