Ablan G. Namie, 91, of Ormand Beach, Florida, formerly of Washington died Thursday, September 25, 2003 in his home following a two year illness. He was born in Washington on June 11, 1912 a son of Michael and Mary George Namie. Mr. Namie was catholic by faith. He worked for many years at Washington Steel and was a member of the United Steel Workers Union. He enjoyed playing his keyboard, singing, painting and spending time in the outdoors. His wife of 42 years, Gloria, died in 2001.
Surviving are a son Larry Namie of Pittsburgh: a daughter Karen Szafranic of Port Orange, Florida; a brother with whom he lived, Ackle “ Ike “ Namie of Ormand Beach, Florida; a sister Josephine Namie of Hollywood, Florida, and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are two brothers, Shiban and Norman Namie.
Friends of Ablan G. Namie, formerly of Washington, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Monday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
