William O. Davis

WWII Army veteran was mould maker. William O. Davis, 80, of Washington, died at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2005, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington. He had been ill for 1 1/2 years. Mr. Davis was born September 25, 1924, in Washington, a son of Melvin and Verna Clutter Davis. He was a mould maker at Hazel Atlas, Continental Can and Brockway Glass. During World War II, Mr. Davis served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He attended West Washington United Methodist Church and was a member of Sunset Lodge 623 F&AM and Royal Arch Chapter 150. On March 14, 1945, he married Ruth Nancydel DeBolt, who died April 19, 1992. Surviving are a daughter, Tula D. (Robert L.) Hickman of Washington; two brothers, Raymond (Shirley) and Kenneth Wilson Davis, both of Washington; a sister, Betty (Guy) Price of Washington; four grandchildren, Shannon Hickman Stromski, Amanda Hickman, Christine David and Michele Davis Hudack; and six great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, William E. Davis; three brothers, Harry, Wilbur and James Davis; and two sisters, Mary Harshman and Joann Davis. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 21, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Sunset Lodge 623 F&AM will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
