Washington farmer was Korean War veteran.
Charles F. Richmond, 74, of Washington, died at 12:04 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2005, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was born May 30, 1930, in Washington, a son of Frank Powers and Lavera Glenrose McMullen Richmond. Mr. Richmond was Presbyterian. He was a graduate of Trinity High School and a farmer. Mr. Richmond served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, receiving the Korean Service Medal with a bronze star, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal. He enjoyed people and watching and feeding birds. A brother died in infancy.
Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, January 10, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
