Franklin D. “ Pete “Byers, 71, of Washington, died on Monday, September 22, 2003 in the Donnell House following a four year illness. He was born on November 9, 1932 in Washington, a son of L. Monroe and Viola Porter Byers. Mr. Byers was a member of the Carpenters Local # 274 for many years and attended Living Waters Church of God. He is a United States Army Veteran. His wife Sarah Byrd Byers survives. Also surviving are four sons, Howard, Randy, Frank, and Bryan Byers, all of Washington; three daughters, Cindy Bedillion and Sheren Byers, both of Washington, and Dawn S. Williams of South Carolina; seven brothers, John and Harold Byers both of Washington, Charles Byers of Arizona, Russell, Arthur, and Bernard Byers all oh Ohio, and Ed Byers of Missouri; two sisters, Mary Bastio of Arizona and Marie Robertson of Ohio; seven grandchildren, Christin, Jack Jr., Dakota, John, Bryan Jr., Ashley, Randy Jr.; and two great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are a son James Byers; four brothers, Jim, Raymond, Lou, and George Byers; five sisters, Elva, LaVetta, Katherine, Alice, and Vila. Friends of Franklin D. “ Pete “ Byers, 71, of Washington will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA where services will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2003 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Michael Singo officiating. Private interment will be held in Washington Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
