Charles William Gallo

Self-employed handyman. Charles William Gallo, 66, of Washington, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005, in Canonsburg General Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born August 7, 1938, in Bulger, a son of John William and Martha Elizabeth Campbell Gallo. A self-employed handyman, Mr. Gallo was Protestant and a veteran. He was a member of Slovak, Polish and Pulaski clubs and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8319. On June 20, 1987, he married Margaret Briggs Dinch, who survives. Also surviving are five stepsons, Thomas Dinch of Marianna, Leroy Dinch of Daisytown, Frank Gallo of West Alexander, Jude Gallo of Washington and James McCombs of South Carolina; two daughters, Martha Elizabeth Copestick and Hanna Jane Copestick, both of Washington; three stepdaughters, Sherry McCombs, Frances Gallo and Wendy Gallo, all of Washington; three brothers, George Gallo of South Park, Frank Gallo of Canonsburg and Robert Gallo of Pontiac, Mich.; four sisters, Evelyn Harps and Vyiona Wilk, both of Washington, Joyce Babiard of Bentleyville and Alma Jackson of Amity; two grandchildren, whom he raised, Angie and Charlie Gallo, and several other grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are five brothers, John Thomas, Terry, Alvin, Ellsworth and his twin, Clarence Gallo. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 10. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, Peters Township. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175.
