Robert L. Ward, 77, of Washington, died Monday July 21, 2003 in his home. Mr. Ward was born in Washington on September 12,1925 a son of Lonnie and LuLu Mae Moore Ward.He attended local schools. Mr. Ward served in the United States Army during World War II, having received the World War II victory medal. He was a member of VFW # 927.
Mr. Ward worked first at Hazel Atlas Glass and later as a local carpet installer for more than 30 years.
Surviving are two sisters Anna Roupe and June Huseman, both of Washington.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mr. Ward in death are a son, Robert Ward; two brothers, Edward and William Ward; four sisters, Helen Lang, Mary Jones, Ruth Knestrick, and Merle Parkinson.
Friends of Robert L. Ward, who died on Monday, July 21, 2003 will be received on Tuesday from 5 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Wednesday July 23, 2003 at 2:30 PM., Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military Rites graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion. Family requests donations in care of William G. Neal Funeral Homes.
