Joan E. Lesnock, 62, of Washington, died unexpectedly Friday, January 25, 2008, in the Emergency Department of The Washington Hospital. She was born October 26, 1945, in Washington, a daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Jankowiak Lesnock. She graduated from McGuffey High School in 1963, and then attended Penn Commercial. In 1985, Ms. Lesnock graduated from Washington and Jefferson College after attending night school while working her way through college. She went on to earn a law degree in 1987, from University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Ms. Lesnock was an attorney for 20 years and a member of the Washington Bar Association and West Virginia Bar Association. She was affiliated with the March of Dimes, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, and the Washington Area Humane Society. Ms. Lesnock was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She dearly loved all of her many nieces and nephews. Surviving are four brothers, James R. (Dianne) Lesnock, John (Rose) Lesnock, Anthony Lesnock, Jr., and Thomas R. (Flossie) Lesnock; and one sister, Janet (Mark) Kuhn, all of Washington; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd. 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, in Immaculate Conception Church, with Father William Feeney as celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the March of Dimes, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or the Washington Area Humane Society.
