Longtime teacher, librarian at JFK Catholic School
Barbara Ann Kulla Danczyk, 58, of Washington, died at 9:20 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2003, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.
She was born August 17, 1945, in Washington, a daughter of the late George and JoAnn Rusinek Kulla.
Mrs. Danczyk was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Christian Mothers and served as a Eucharistic minister.
She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1963 and Clarion University in 1967 and received her master's degree from Duquesne University. She also earned a bachelor's degree in education from Carlow College.
She was the coordinator of the 100th anniversary reunion for Catholic education at Immaculate Conception Parish in 2002.
Mrs. Danczyk was a teacher at Bethel Park's Neil Armstrong School and later a teacher and librarian for 22 years at John F. Kennedy Catholic School in Washington.
She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of Alpha Phi Sigma Tau Sorority.
On August 1, 1970, she married Richard Danczyk, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Matthew Danczyk of York and Paul Danczyk of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Suzanne Danczyk of West Chester; a sister, Joanne Coyle of Washington; a granddaughter, Katelyn Danczyk; and many nieces and nephews.
DANCZYK - Friends of Barbara Ann Kulla Danczyk of Washington, who died Monday, August 25, 2003, will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 28, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with the Rev. William Feeney as celebrant. Private burial will be in Wisconsin. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to John F. Kennedy Catholic School Library, 111 West Spruce Street, Washington, PA 15301.
