Elizabeth Margaret Hodgens

Member of Fourth Presbyterian Church Elizabeth Margaret Hodgens, 87, of Washington, died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003, in Washington County Health Center, Washington, following a two-year illness. She was born October 29, 1915, in Turtle Creek, a daughter of Stanley Oklahoma and Margaret Wiliams Rush. Mrs. Hodgens was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church and its choir and ladies aid. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking and her friends. In 1933, she married Vern Oscar Hodgens, who died February 3, 1958. Surviving are three sons, James and Robert V. Hodgens, both of Washington, and Charles Edwin Hodgens of Anderson, S.C.; a daughter, Betty Hodgens Vickers of Davidsonville, Md.; three brothers, Cyrus Rush of Walterboro, S.C., Howard Rush of McMurray and Albert Rush of West Middleton; a sister, Geraldine Rush of Waterford; nine grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-great-grandchild. Deceased are a brother, James O. Rush; amd two grandchildren, Kathy and James Hodgens. HODGENS - Friends of Elizabeth Margaret Hodgens of Washington, who died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, with the Rev. Dr. Susan Vande Kappelle officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
