Jacob “ Jack “ Loar, 67, of DuBois, formerly of Washington, died on Monday, September 15, 2003 in his home following a five year illness. He was born in Washington County on February 27, 1936, a son of the late Mildred Loar.
Mr. Loar was a graduate of Bentleyville High School, Drafting School of Pittsburgh, and Penn Tech. Mr. Loar served with the United States Army in the Korean War. He worked at Moly Corp for twenty-five years prior to the company’s closing, after which he owned and operated Room Dusters, a local cleaning business with his daughter. He had attended First Christian Church of Canonsburg while living in the area and the Inter-Denominational Church of DuBois while living in DuBois.
On July 17, 1959 he married Frances Pettit who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Jeanette Buriak of DuBois and Pamela McCartney of West Mifflin; three grandchildren, Skylar, Mannon, and Bo Jay Buriak.
Friends of Jacob “ Jack “ Loar, formerly of Washington, who died on September 15, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Thursday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Friday, September 19, 2003 at 12:00 noon, Pastor Jack Martin officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
