William Clark Harter, Jr., 75 of Washington, died Saturday, November 8, 2003 in the Washington County Health Center following a 10 month illness. He was born in Washington on October 2, 1928 a son of William Clark and Sarah E. Boardley Harter, Sr. Mr. Harter was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School, served with Company “ H “ in the National Guard from 1947 - 1950, and worked for more than 36 years as a steelworker at Precision Marshall. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a brother Thomas Edward Harter of Washington; two sisters, Verna Louise O’Brien and Beverly J. Wolf, both of Washington; four nephews, Thomas Harter, Jr., Gary and Douglas Wolf, and Frank O’Brien; three nieces, Joanne Sheets, Kristine Wolf, and Kellie Baird.
Friends of William Clark Harter, Jr., of Washington, will be received from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington where services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family requests donations be made to ; St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 775 N. Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
