S. Blanche Mckee Loughman

Oldest member of Bethlehem Baptist Church Blanche M. Loughman, 98, of Residence at Country Meadows, Bridgeville, formerly of Ruff Creek, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2003, in Donnell House, Washington. She was born October 28, 1905, in Ninevah, a daughter of William E. and Winnie O. Brown McKee. Mrs. Loughman was the oldest member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ruff Creek, where she taught an adult women's Sunday school class for 45 years. She was a member of the Women's Mission Service Circle for more than 60 years and held various Sunday school and church offices. She was a 1923 graduate of Waynesburg High School and attended the normal school at Waynesburg College. Mrs. Loughman taught at Petit and Edgar one-room schools in Washington Township, Greene County. On November 25, 1926, she married Raymond E. Loughman, who died May 18, 1990. Surviving are a son, Ralph E. Loughman of McDonald; a daughter, Betty Lou Engle of Lagonda; six grandchildren, Deborah and Richard Loughman, Dr. Linda Loughman-Henderson, Kathy Dougherty and Kimberly and Keith Hickman; and six great-grandchildren. LOUGHMAN - Friends of Blanche M. Loughman of Residence at Country Meadows, Bridgeville, formerly of Ruff Creek, who died Wednesday, November 5, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, with the Rev. Thomas Hamilton and the Rev. Joan Edgar officiating. Interment will follow in Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, Ruff Creek; or Donnell House, Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
