Virginia L. Ireland

Virginia L. Ireland, 66, of Washington died Monday, September 8, 2003 in Washington Hospital following a ten year illness. She was born in Washington on September 13, 1936 a daughter of Peter O. and Frances M. Fisher Bird. Mrs. Ireland had attended Taylorstown Schools. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the Eagles # 687 and American Legion Post # 175. Mrs. Ireland had worked as a nanny for James and Margie Howard as well as John and Lilly Harter. On February 25, 1956 she married Clifford G. Ireland who died on December 22, 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Marcy L. Ireland-Garner of Washington; a brother, Robert Bird of Washington; two sisters, Dolores Dawes and Joyce St.Vincent, both of Washington; two grandchildren, Clifford P. and Brandy L. Ayres; and four great-grand daughters. Preceding her in death are a brother, Arthur Bird and a sister, Eleanor Durilla. Friends of Virginia L. Ireland, 66, of Washington will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Wednesday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2003 at 1:00 PM, Pastor Gary Gibson officiating, interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
