Jeanne Wayne Cornetto, 81, of Washington, died Friday, August 8, 2003 in Washington Hospital. She was born February 23, 1922 in the Knoxville section of Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Max and Anna Wayne.
Mrs. Cornetto graduated from Charleroi High School in 1939. She later moved to Washington where she lived for over 50 years. She worked for the G.C. Murphy Company in their downtown Washington store for several years.
She later owned and operated Jeanne’s Print Shop from 1959 to 1984 when she retired.
in 1984, Mrs. Cornetto helped start the Washington literacy Council and remained involved until the time of her death. Throughout the years, she handcrafted hundreds of greeting cards for her family and friends.
Surviving are two sisters, Mildred Landay of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Charlotte Wagner of Evanston, Illinois; a brother, Robert Wayne of Merced ,California; several nieces and nephews; and her longtime companion Al Smith.
Preceding her in death are her brother David Wayne and husband Fred.
