Emma Jean Johnson, 66, of Washington, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, in the Washington County Health Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Washington on July 4, 1939, a daughter of the late William C. and Daisey Leonard McWee, Sr. After graduating from Washington High School, she served in the United States Army for 18 months. She worked as a private duty nurses aide. She was a member of the Allison Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnson was formerly a member of the Slovak Club.
On February 5, 1956, she married Robert Lee Johnson, Sr., who died on December 23, 2004.
Surviving are three sons, Robert Johnson, Jr., of Eighty-Four, William Johnson of Washington, and John Johnson, Sr., of Edgewater, Florida; four daughters, Donna Landock of Winston-Salem, South Carolina. Karen Forde of Hinesville, Georgia, Mary Johnson of Washington, and Marie Stevens of Washington; two brothers, James McWee, Sr., and Robert McWee of Middleton, Maryland; three sisters, Patricia Miller of Washington, Margery Choma of Toronto, Ohio, and Linda L. Freier of Washington; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are three brothers, John, William, and David McWee.
Friends of Emma Jean Johnson, 66, of Washington, who died Saturday, April 30, 2005, will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 1 to 3 pm, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, at which time, a service will be held with Rev. Larry Wiltrout officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
