Longtime member of Church of Christ
Doris A. Rogers, 76, of Prosperity, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2003, in her daughter's home in Claysville, following a five-year illness.
She was born August 21, 1926, in Taylorstown, a daughter of Archie W. and Blanche Dinch Clemens.
Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and was employed at Millcraft Center for 14 years.
She was an active member of Church of Christ and its Tuesday and Sunday schools and was active in many other church activities.
On August 5, 1948, she married Calvin C. Rogers, who died January 16, 2002.
Surviving are three sons, Kenneth M. Rogers of Claysville, Tim Rogers of LaGrange, Ky., and Jeffrey Rogers of Prosperity; three daughters, Sharon (Sherry) Caldwell of Claysville, with whom she made her home, Nancy Ingram of Pensacola, Fla., and Patti Rogers; six grandchildren, Janice Campbell, Cathy Caldwell, Aaron and Jason Rogers, Gary Malarky and Tom Ingram; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Curtis W. Clemens of Washington and Gene Clemens of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Daniel Wayne Rogers; and two sisters, Faye Pearce and an infant sister, Elsie Marie.
ROGERS - Friends of Doris A. Rogers of Prosperity, who died Monday, August 11, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 15, in Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington, with John Wright, Robert Davison, Dan Smith and Phillip Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
