David Emil Volk, Sr., 59 of Washington, Pa., formerly of Pittsburgh and Tacoma, died unexpectedly Sunday July, 6, 2003 in Washington Hospital. He was born on January 18, 1944 in Heidelberg, PA a son of the late Jacob and Esther Nonnenberg Volk. Mr. Volk was a Vietnam Veteran and received an Art Degree from Tacoma Community College. He worked for more than 20 years as an equipment operator at Mankee Lumber Company, Tacoma. Locally. he worked at Falcon Plastics and Walmart.
On September 29, 2000 he married Kathy Mayfield who survives. Also surviving are a son, David E. Volk, Jr.; a daughter Valerie A. Bowland; two step-sons, Joseph and Corey Christopher; a step-daughter Molly Christopher; three brothers, John, Robert, and Homer Volk; two sisters, Selma Lindsay and Martha Kane as well as five grandchildren.
Preceding him in death is a daughter Bernadette M. Bonato.
