Mine mechanic for Dilworth Mine
Charles D. "Hildy" Hildreth, 54, of Hopewell Township, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 13, 2002, in Washington Hospital.
He was born September 20, 1947, in Washington, a son of Thomas and Sara Burgh Hildreth of Washington.
Mr. Hildreth was a 1965 graduate of Trinity High School.
He previously worked as a machinist for RCA and later as a mine mechanic in Dilworth Mine for the past 20 years.
Mr. Hildreth was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 1980 and a former member of ABATE.
He was an avid pool player and made custom cue sticks.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Judy Leichty of McMurray and Paula Jones of Washington; two nieces, Jackie Newman and Julie Havanis; and a nephew, Josh Jones.
HILDRETH - Friends of Charles D. "Hildy" Hildreth of Hopewell Township, who died Tuesday, August 13, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Inc., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held Friday, August 16, at a time to be announced. Interment will follow in Woodruff Memorial Park, Peters Township.
