Stephen Paul Kita, 58, of Washington, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2002, in his home, following a three-year illness.
He was born June 4, 1944, in Manifold, a son of the late James and Alice Wargo Kita.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Kita was employed for 29 years by Millcraft Products in Washington.
Mr. Kita was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington.
He was a 1963 graduate of Avella High School and a graduate of Pittsburgh Art Institute.
Mr. Kita was an artist and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, singing and riding through the country. His favorite holiday was Christmas.
On August 16, 1969, he married Vivian Chappel, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Michael S. Kita of Washington; two daughters, Susan Carman of Claysville and Judy Patrene of Scenery Hill; a brother, James S. Kita of Washington; three sisters, Barbara E. Woleslagle and Alice E. Thomas, both of Washington, and Helen M. Kita of Baltimore, Md.; three grandchildren, Jacob and Jenny Carman and Melena Patrene.
Deceased is a brother, Joseph James Kita.
KITA - Friends of Stephen Paul Kita of Washington, who died Sunday, August 11, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 E. Maiden Street, Washington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, in Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. John Forbidussi as celebrant. Interment in Washington Cemetery. The family suggests, memorial contributions be made to Immaculate Conception Church or Hospice Care of Washington Hospital.
