Docent at LeMoyne House
Freda Mae Ross, 70, of Washington, died at 10:10 a.m. Sunday, August 11, 2002, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, following a month and a half illness.
She was born December 17, 1931, in Washington, a daughter of John H. and Mildred C. Pffeiffer Mossburg.
Mrs. Ross was a member of United Methodist Church and a former lay leader.
She retired from Southminster Senior Care. Prior to that, she was employed by RCA and Duling Optical for 15 years.
Mrs. Ross was a counselor at Grove City College and was a member of Washington County Historical Society. She was a docent at LeMoyne House.
She was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School and attended Waynesburg College for two years, where she received three certifications.
On January 23, 1954, she married Ralph Ross, who died December 18, 1974.
Surviving are two daughters, Rene Marie Diethorn of Centerville and Gayle Leigh Biscoe of Phillipe, W.Va.; four sisters, Helen Carveth Porter, Alice Richmond and Evelyn Lindsay, all of Washington, and Jessie King of Macon, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Rachel and Michelle Diethorn and Ashley and Heather Biscoe.
Deceased is a brother, Thomas Rodgers Mossburg.
ROSS - Friends of Freda Mae Ross of Washington, who died Sunday, August 11, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, with Pastor Scott Gallagher officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
